What is Xypex Patch’n Plug?

Xypex Patch’n Plug is a fast-setting hydraulic cement designed for active water leak repair and concrete waterproofing. It effectively seals leaking cracks, tie holes, and localized concrete defects in basements, water tanks, and underground structures.

Unlike ordinary cement mortar, Xypex Patch’n Plug sets rapidly to help stop flowing water. As a result, it provides an effective solution for emergency concrete leakage repairs.

Additionally, Xypex Patch’n Plug incorporates Xypex Crystalline Waterproofing Technology, which enhances water resistance within the repaired concrete area. Therefore, it supports durable and reliable waterproofing repairs.

Moreover, contractors and engineers use Xypex Patch’n Plug for construction joint leakage, concrete surface preparation, and pipe penetration repairs. Its rapid-setting properties make it suitable for various concrete waterproofing applications in the Philippines.

Prepare the Concrete

Remove unsound concrete and prepare a mechanically keyed repair cavity. The manufacturer’s standard plugging detail specifies approximately 25 mm width and 37 mm depth. Avoid V-shaped slots and do not damage reinforcing steel.

Mix Patch’n Plug

Add clean water to the dry material at approximately 1 part water to 3.25–3.5 parts powder by volume, following the current manufacturer’s instructions. Mix only the amount that can be placed within the short working time.

Plug the Active Leak

Form the mixed material into a plug and press firmly into the prepared cavity until it hardens. For leaking cracks, progress from lower-flow locations toward the highest-flow point.

Complete the Repair

Inspect the repair for leakage and finish the surface according to the specified procedure. Apply any additional Xypex waterproofing treatment required by the repair design.
